Getting Projects Done Before the Christmas Shut-Down

 Today is going to be an intense day. If I work at George Lucas’ “light speed” I might be able to get everything done by late tonight. With the holidays just around the corner much must be done and little time is left to do it. The bakery we are partnering with is completing the buildout of its new location, the photography company is finishing its rebrand and website updates, Fears & Clark is closing a few leases before Christmas, we are working to secure funding for a major downtown Tulsa commercial tenant that is really going to be bringing a great dining experience to downtown Tulsa, our workflow must be enhanced significantly at the video company, the new sales people must be trained and on a personal level I must finish completing the invite list for our family “Christmas Party,” while finding time to attend Church on the Move’s annual Christmas event. Oh…the holidays.
 I am excited about the challenges and the opportunities of 2011 and I am excited about the “new economy” that is being created. I know that I might sound delusionally optimistic, but I sincerely do believe that debt is evil and that it does enslave people. I am glad to know that less people are being enslaved to their local banking institutions.  I am glad to see people not spending money on things they don’t need. I am excited to see people saving money until they can afford to pay cash for something. I am excited about the internet. I am excited about social media and internet marketing. I am excited about a great many things that this new tech-driven, frugality focused, pro-guerilla marketing economy is creating. Look at the Depression generation. Those that are still living are prolific savers. Many of them save foil, save coins, save as much money as possible, avoid debt at all costs, diversity their cash savings, etc…Are any of these traits bad traits to have? I believe that 2010 was a great rebound year for America and I believe that 2011 is going to be my best year yet I just have to finish my to-do-list first.
