For the past 20 years, the city of Tulsa’s downtown has always looked historic. The art-deco buildings have never really changed too much. Very few new buildings have been built, but lately something has significantly changed about downtown Tulsa. Tulsa’s downtown no longer looks completely empty after dark. Tulsa’s downtown is moving farther and farther away from its ghost town impersonations that it had become good at doing. Downtown Tulsa now has foot traffic throughout the city. The Blue Dome District quickly becoming a great spot for the Tulsa business community to go after work, and for couples, friends and families to visit over the weekend.
Downtown Tulsa now has numerous restaraunts for workers to choose from and it is becoming more and more easy for office employees to buy a stapler, some paper and a pen during their work day. Downtown Tulsa used to be the nationalize spokesperson for the word “vacant.” However, today the city is emerging as a destination for people from all backgrounds and walks of life to live, play and work. Over the past 5 years, the scene surrounding downtown Tulsa has changed dramatically. The BOK Center is now up and fully operational. This state of the art facility is quickly becoming one of the country’s top venues for concert goers and performers alike. Within less than a mile, Tulsan’s can now also enjoy the newly rennovated Brady Theatre and the thriving and artistic Brady District. The Brady District is establishing a reputation in Tulsa as a place you can go for entertainment and a unique dining experience. OneOK Field is now complete. This brand new baseball stadium, offers fans a great view of downtown Tulsa and a great family fun environment. The stadium which has been built to actually be below street level, offers fans a unique view of the Tulsa skyline as they watch the Drillers take on various minor league baseball teams. Kanbar Properties has now begun to assert itself as Tulsa’s commercial real estate leaders. Since acquiring nearly 40% of downtown Tulsa nearly 5 years ago, Kanbar has been working diligently to restore downtown Tulsa through the aquisition, leasing, rennovation and selling of strategic buildings. The historic Atlas building has now been sold and turned into a thriving downtown Courtyard Marriott. One of Kanbar’s buildings has since been sold and is being turned into luxury lofts. The 119 Lofts project will offer Tulsan’s numerous floorplans, and urban living options with modern ammenities. The Summitt Club, which is located in Kanbar’s Bank of America tower has recently finished its massive rennovation process and it now is creating quite a buzz around the Tulsa business community. The 5 star cuisine, the beautiful view and the luxurious buildout are drawing a crowd each night.
Tulsa has been through its ups and its down, however the city appears to be generating momentum at an exponential pace of late. For more information about downtown Tulsa, downtown Tulsa commercial real estate, commercial real estate in Tulsa, Tulsa commercial real estate, Tulsa real estate,
