Tulsa Commercial Real Estate Experts – J. Paul Getty's Thoughts On Socialism
Tulsa Commercial Real Estate Experts – J. Paul Getty’s Thoughts On Socialismby U.S. SBA Entrepreneur of the Year & Cofounder of Fears & Clark Tulsa Commercial Real Estate Group – Clay ClarkAs more and more moronic socialist apologists have emerged upon the United States political scene, I have become more and more sensitive to the writings of America’s great business men. The tycoons in every generation essentially are the Atlas that hold up our entire economic systems and governments. Without them, their profits, the jobs they create and their spending habits governments could not even begin to debate forming a socialist regime because their would be no money with which to fund such a concept. While the socialist theorists and life-time college students debate socialism vs. capitalism somebody is out their working to provide the revenue from which the government excessively taxes to fund the study of such ridiculous systems of economics. The late great J. Paul Getty, who was the richest man of his time had some interesting thoughts about socialism and capitalism. I thought it would be appropriate to share them here.
“Fiscal 1975, the Postal Service lost $869 million – despite a whopping $1.6 billion Federal subsidy. In the meantime, private enterprise mail delivery services have sprung up. They operate at a most “socially desirable” level, save their customers time and money – earn satisfactory profits (even though they spend extra money for neat plastic bags in which to deliver the day’s mail). by U.S. SBA Entrepreneur of the Year & Cofounder of Fears & Clark
Last summer – British newspapers revealed the heavy losses sustained by all the nation’s nationalized enterprises save for the National Coal Board, which somehow managed to take in more money than it spent. Mr. Harry Fieldhouse, editor and political expert made this trenchant comment. “If nationalized monopolies cannot be run at a profit, a Socialist State becomes impossible. It must either go bankrupt or it must preserve and cherish a profitable private sector big enough to subsidize the public losses.”
It is intriguing to speculate what socialist politicians will do if they have their way and nationalize all businesses. The capitalist goose that lays the gold tax-egg will be transmuted into a money-losing socialist crow. Who will provide the funds for the salaries, and the secretaries, the chauffeured cars, globe-hopping junkets and other perquisites – of senators, congressmen, Members of Parliament and the bureaucratic hordes?”
